Opening Day of Baseball!

Well, actually, Opening Day is behind us but my fashion sense is just catching up! Today I found myself at the field with my favorite baseball-inpsired tee (the first time of the Season) and harem-style pants. It’s invigorating to wear clothes that belong to the spring season; like taking an old friend out for a spin on a sunny day!

Nothing Says Spring Like Kate Spade!

LGH_150401_6344LGH_150401_6343Nothing says Spring to me more than my vintage Kate Spade New York straw handbag. I can’t remember where I bought it – Bloomindale’s, perhaps? I can’t remember how long ago – at least 15 years. None of that really matters to me. I do know that I bought this handbag before I had ever heard of Kate Spade, and certainly before she became the well-known designer that she is today. That could be one of the reasons that it is a favorite of mine and the first thing I pull out when the weather warms. The combination of the colors and the texture are at once classic yet modern. It carries a timeless quality that translates to every occasion and every opportunity to take it out for a stroll.

I bought this handbag simply because I liked it. And that is what really matters when we buy and certainly keep, our treasured pieces.LGH_150401_6387

Camo is the new khaki

IMGP0662 2IMGP0698IMGP0677As the weather warms and the daffodils burst onto the spring scene, I pass over my jeans for a lighter weight pant. In the past, that has meant a pair of khakis: cropped, long, bootcut or slim leg, khakis have been a spring staple. But I am bored with khakis this year, and I couldn’t find a pair that had the perfect fit. My solution: camo pants! I wear them the same way I would wear khakis, with a t-shirt and sandals, or in this case, nude pumps, and I am good to go. This outfit: camo pants by Madewell, v-neck tee by Splendid (recommended by Cupcakes and Cashmere…thank you, Emily!), and shoes by Vince Camuto, because every girl needs a pair of nude pumps.
