I love black. The minute I feel the cool temperatures, I welcome wearing it. But about this time of year, especially during a harsh winter like the one we have had, I start to see black and only blackin my wardrobe choices. And I know I am in a rut. When this happens, just adding a pop of color around my face brightens my mood every time. Today it’s purple, a fantastic color but one I rarely wear. Why, I’m not sure, but today I am stepping out of my comfort zone. My colorful blouse of choice? EILEEN FISHER, of course!
This season is all about adding pops of color! Find them in nature, find them in fashion; there is a bright world of accents waiting for you. My new favorite color is yellow and celadon (somewhere between a yellow and a green). Another favorite are Prabal Gurung for Target dresses; the one I wore to Sardi’s seen here and this celadon-colored dress, now on clearance for $14!! Paired with a neutral color shoe, my tried-and-true Sigerson Morrison gold wedges, the color pops even more.
By the way, I love mixing old and new; I have owned these shoes for 12 years and am inspired to pull them out of my closet and wear them as often as I can since hearing the news about the talented designers Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison. I added red lipstick and the roses of course – and I’m on my way!
